Custom parts, reviewed from your drawing.

CNC machining removes material from a solid blank using programmed cutting tools. Milling and turning can be combined with finishing and inspection to produce components to an agreed drawing.

Partavon coordinates the technical review and quotation for custom metal parts. We start by understanding the application, geometry and quantity, then clarify the production route with the relevant manufacturing specialists.

Milling, turning and the features in between.

Milling is a route to consider for pockets, flat faces, holes and multi-face components. Turning is suited to rotational features such as diameters, shoulders, bores and threads. Some components require both processes or additional grinding and finishing.

The required machine setup, working envelope and inspection method depend on the actual part. We confirm those details during quotation rather than assigning a single tolerance or size limit to every project.

  • Housings, brackets and mounting components
  • Stepped shafts, bushings and threaded components
  • Sample parts and engineering evaluation batches
  • Repeat batches based on an approved revision

Material and finish belong in the brief.

Tell us the material grade and condition, not only the metal family. If you need advice, describe the loads, environment and appearance requirements so the options can be reviewed.

Machined surfaces, anodizing, passivation, plating and heat treatment each affect the quotation and acceptance requirements. Availability and suitability are confirmed for your project. Visit our materials and finishes guide for the details worth specifying.

A quotation with the right assumptions.

Quantity, setup complexity, critical tolerances, finish and required inspection all influence cost. If your design is changing, identify which features are already fixed and which are still under review.

For a small-batch order, include quantity breaks where possible. This gives a clearer view of how setup and repeat-production requirements affect the unit price.

Before the quotation.

Can I request only a few parts?

Yes, send the quantity you need. Whether a specific low-volume project is practical depends on material availability, setup and the manufacturing route; the quotation confirms the accepted quantity and cost.

Do I need a 2D drawing if I have a 3D model?

A model defines geometry, while a dimensioned drawing communicates critical tolerances, threads, surface finish and acceptance details. Include both when those requirements matter.

Can you quote from a photograph or sample?

A photograph can start a discussion, but a firm quotation usually needs dimensions and requirements. If reverse engineering is needed, identify it as a separate part of the project scope.
